Horse Supplement, Equion Horse SupplementsEQUION® Horse Supplement is vitamin, mineral supplement with Century Hill Industries' Yeast Culture added. The carrier for these ingredients is dehydrated alfalfa. The yeast culture that we manufacture aids the feed digestion in horses by increasing the natural bacteria in the animals cecum which in turn breaks down the fiber and makes more of the nutrients available to the animal.

When the Equion horse supplement is included in the ration, you will find that horses with a deficient red blood count will increase significantly within 2-3 weeks and the blood parameters will recover quickly after a race. In general, the yeast culture helps improve the overall health of the horse. The yeast culture is non toxic and has been tested by Standard Research clinic for mutagen's, drugs and antibiotics. The tests were negative.

The following is a list of things we find the yeast culture helps to improve. Some of the items listed below are testimonials from horse owners and veterinarians using our Equion horse supplement , others are documented.

  • An improved hair coat in 7 to 10 days, depending upon the overall condition of the horse. In winter, the hair is short but will be very thick. Many horse coats will "dapple" .
  • Hoofs show a better texture along with improved growth. (They trim more often)

Testimonial of Equion Horse Supplement
I have been feeding the Equion horse supplement vitamins for 9 months and have been very pleased with the results. My seven year old thoroughbred/quarter cross mare had a lack of energy and was staying underweight. I could see a difference in her energy level within the first 2 weeks and was able to cut her feed by one-third within the first 2 months. Her hooves are staying in incredibly good shape and she is still calm in the warm up pen with good stamina in the working arena.

Her weight and muscle tone has improved beyond belief. This is the first supplement I have ever used with such quick results. I own an arena and boarding stable and have had a boarder's cutting horse with extremely poor hooves. After one month on the hoof supplement along with the Equion horse supplement vitamins the farrier and owner could see significant results. The farrier was coming to replace a shoe every 1 to 2 weeks. After the first month we started to see new growth and after 5 months of use this horse has not had a hoof problem in the past 3 months.

This mare is now on a normal farrier program of every 6 weeks with good strong hooves. The Equion horse vitamins have proven to be very effective with my performance horses including roping and barrel racing horses. This is by far the best supplement I have ever tried. Sincerely, Roe Ann Logan, Owner/Trainer Double R Arena & Stables Winnsboro, TX

Symptoms to look for when your horse may need Century Hill E-Lytes

When the body's electrolyte levels are disturbed, your horse may have heart problems, his gastrointestinal system may not work properly, his muscles may develop cramps, and he may not even be able to think straight, because his brain may not function normally.

Signs of low electrolyte levels may include nervousness, fatigue, muscle tremors, and stiffness.

Signs of dehydration that you might look for are dry mucous membranes, sunken eyes, fatigue, high heart rate and respiratory rate that don't come down with proper cooling-out measures, weak pulses, skin tenting, or colic.

Look for poor capillary refill time (CRT). In order to determine the CRT, you will press the horse's gum lightly to cause blanching of the color, and determine how long it will take for the color to return. In the normal horse, this takes no more than 2 seconds.

How to use Century Hill E-Lytes Horse Supplements

For the hardworking horse, feed 2 ounces per head per day. Maintenance is 1 ounce per head per day.

When to use Century Hill E-Lytes Horse Supplements

During cold weather, the horse may not want to drink water. If the horse is on the maintenance E-Lyte level, it should help increase the thirst so they will drink. When the horse is performing in competition levels of work, the E-Lytes with our pre-biotic yeast culture will help offset dehydration.
